This scholarship is designed to financially support the progress of a current student working on a program in aviation maintenance, who demonstrates leadership, generosity, and excellent citizenship within their school and/or community. A&P Textbook and eBook Set (5 student awards)
This textbook Bundle (valued at $593.55) includes both the print and digital versions of all four volumes of the Dale Crane AMT Series (General, Airframe Systems, Airframe Structures, and Powerplant), all of the FAA AMT Handbooks for General, Airframe and Powerplant, the FAA AC 43.13-1B and -2B, and an ASA 2024 FAR for Aviation Maintenance Technicians. Aviation Maintenance Training System (1 FAA-certificated part 147 school award)
The training system includes a Model 130ST Trainer, a Model 1438G Fundamentals of Aviation Maintenance Technology Program, a Model 1438P Aircraft Electrical Programs with experiment card set, and a Basic ten (10) Student Software License that includes a learning management system and student monitoring system. The award includes a one-year software support warranty and a 5-year hardware warranty. The value of this award is $13,385.00. |
Intermediate Aviation Tool Set (1 student award)
This tool set (valued at $7,102) includes 263-piece tool set and 8-drawer tool box. Four drawers with tools, foam shadowed and laser etched, and four drawers empty for expansion. A lifetime warranty is included. The tool set will be shipped to the award recipient in May 2024. |
Dale Hurst Memorial Scholarship (1 instructor award)
The scholarship provides transportation and per diem funds, up to $1,500, for an AMT instructor to attend a one- to three-day airline manufacturer, vendor, or other industry aviation maintenance workshop, seminar, or training course. Travel funds approved prior to the course are paid following receipt of actual travel expense documentation, successful completion documentation from the course provider, and a brief report about the training that can be published by Avotek and/or Choose Aerospace. |
Aviation Maintenance Technician Series Textbooks (5 student awards)
These textbook sets, valued at $585 each, includes Introduction to Aircraft Maintenance, Aircraft Structural Maintenance, Aircraft System Maintenance, and Aircraft Powerplant Maintenance and their corresponding student workbooks. |
Avionics Textbook Set (5 student awards)
These textbook sets, valued at $345 each, includes Fundamentals of Aircraft Electronics, Beyond the AET, Instruments and Auxiliary Systems, and Systems and Troubleshooting, their corresponding student workbooks, and a tote bag. |
General Familiarization Course and Certification (10 student awards)
Ten applicants will be selected to enroll in a General Familiarization course of their choice (valued to $500 each). Hold onto this certificate until you are near graduation and preparing to interview. Then select which type is needed and complete that self paced program prior to your interview. Upon completion of the course will receive a certificate from the developer plus FAAST AMT Award Points. Eligible courses from Trans Global Training or InfoWerks are available for the types below. ASTM/NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician Certification Exam (1 student award)
One recipient will receive test fees for the NCATT AET exam and one endorsement exam (Dependent Navigation Systems (DNS), Radio Communication Systems (RCS), Autonomous Navigation Systems (ANS), Onboard Communication and Safety Systems (OCS) or Aircraft Electronics Installation Technician (AEIT)). The total award value is $310. There are no prerequisites for these exams and as an added bonus, successful completion of both meets FAA training requirements for a repairman's license (AET plus one). |
CertTEC Basic Composites Certification Exam (1 student award)
One recipient will receive test fees for the Basic Composites Certification Exam. The award value is $400. |
CertTEC Aviation Structures Certification (1 student award)
One recipient will receive test fees for the Aviation Structures Certification Exam. The award value is $400. |
Jim and Alice Rice FAA Test Fees Grant Award (2 student awards)
Each award provides the recipient with two (2) vouchers, the number from which are needed to register and pay for two FAA written tests required for AMT certifications (i.e., General AMG, Airframe AMA, and/or Powerplant AMP). Vouchers are good for one year from date of issuance. Value of each award is $350. |
