Partner Pathways
Choose Aerospace is proud to partner with employers and FAA-certificated part 147 aviation maintenance technician schools nationwide that recognize the value of CA coursework. These partners offer pathway opportunities for CA completers, including transfer credit, advanced standing, tuition savings, scholarships, and accelerated entry into advanced coursework and employment. Choose Aerospace graduates are encouraged to contact partner institutions directly for more information about these opportunities.
Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU) | Carbondale, IL
Students who complete the full Choose Aerospace curriculum may receive credit for five General courses, provided they pass the FAA general written knowledge test upon enrollment at SIU. This translates to approximately $6,000 in tuition and lab fee savings, along with accelerated progress through the A&P program. CA completers who successfully test out can move more quickly into advanced coursework while reducing overall program cost.
US Aviation Academy | Denton, TX; San Marcos, TX; Atlanta, GA; and Minneapolis, MN
Students who complete the full Choose Aerospace curriculum and take the Choose Aerospace Transition Course receive credit for 25% of the A&P certification requirements before graduation. This means they enter the Academy’s accelerated 8-month course with a solid foundation, needing only the remaining 75% to earn their FAA A&P Certificate.
In addition, students may apply for the A&P High School Scholarship Program, which offers potential awards of up to $2,000.
Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) | Atlanta Metro, GA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Dallas Metro, TX; Fremont, CA; Hasbrouck Heights, NJ; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Kansas City, MO; Las Vegas, NV; Norfolk, VA; Manassas, VA; Orlando Metro, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ
Students who have completed the Choose Aerospace curriculum may demonstrate competency and earn credit for the corresponding course at AIM upon passing an on-site skills assessment. This course-by-course evaluation model provides flexibility for CA completers. By validating skills through assessment, students have an opportunity to avoid repeating material and enter AIM programs with advanced standing based on demonstrated proficiency.
WSU Tech | Wichita, KS
WSU Tech maintains active dual-enrollment partnerships with Kansas high schools utilizing Choose Aerospace. Students who complete CA at a participating high school receive credit for their General courses and may enter directly into Airframe coursework when enrolling full-time at WSU Tech. The program is supported locally by the college, who works with high school instructors to ensure quality assurance and alignment. This structured pipeline allows students to transition smoothly from high school into a part 147 program with advanced standing. WSU Tech will consider forming articulation agreements with new schools outside of their current partners.
Saint Francis University (SFU) | Johnstown, PA
SFU will grant credit with evidence of applicable Airman Certification Standards. Choose Aerospace program completers with an ATEC General Aviation Maintenance Credential satisfy the evidence for General credit. CA completers without the ATEC Credential can attempt to test out with SFU.
Portland Community College (PCC) | Portland, OR
Portland Community College’s AMT program supports the Hillsboro School district to deliver initial General subject courses and gives prioritized registration status for entry into the college program once graduated from High School. PCC also partners to offer students an opportunity at the direct employment pipeline of Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines after graduation. This combination of collegiate and industry placement opportunities makes PCC a compelling pathway for CA graduates in the Pacific Northwest.
Aims Community College | Loveland, CO
Aims Community College is a newly launched A&P program actively building Choose Aerospace pipelines with Colorado high schools. CA completers may receive credit for prior learning and demonstrated competencies as it relates to the Part 147 General AMT curriculum and program. As Aims continues to expand its partnerships with industry in and around Colorado, students can benefit from early exposure to high quality aviation maintenance education with a structured transition into a Part 147 program with some of the credit already in hand.
