Help Your Students Shine at the Aviation Maintenance Competition

Get ready to elevate student engagement and showcase your program’s strengths—Choose Aerospace programs are invited to form teams to compete in the prestigious Aviation Maintenance Competition (AMC) at both MRO Americas and Verticon.

What’s the AMC all about?
The AMC is a dynamic skills competition where student teams, each representing their school, take on timed hands-on maintenance challenges designed by real-world industry leaders. These tasks mirror the day-to-day responsibilities of aviation maintenance technicians, from precision measurements and safety inspections to system troubleshooting and component testing. There are corporate teams at the event as well, but they compete in their own category.
  • MRO Americas (2026): Five-member teams tackle roughly 27–29 events over two full days on the exhibition floor in Orlando. It’s a flagship event—the competition is integrated into Aviation Week’s largest maintenance meeting.
  • Verticon (2026): In its second year as an AMC stop, Verticon features three-member teams competing across 8–12 events in about a day and a half.

Why You Should Participate:
  • Real-World Exposure. Students perform tasks under time pressure and are evaluated on accuracy, safety, and professionalism—skills that directly translate to workplace readiness.
  • Program Visibility and Industry Connections. Competing highlights the quality of your program and provides networking opportunities with employers, manufacturers, and maintenance professionals.
  • Motivation & Prestige. Whether competing as a school, general, or MRO team, students get to experience aviation culture firsthand and carry credentials that stand out on resumes.
  • Scholarship & Recognition Opportunities. Schools and students can earn awards, scholarships, and industry recognition through demonstrated skill and teamwork

Ready to Launch?
Team registration opens October 1. Whether you're building excitement by setting up a competition team or simply exploring the option, these events are powerful milestones for students transitioning into aviation careers.
